Summer 2014 Group Show
This July/August, summer descends on Hay Hill Gallery in the form of a brand new group show. Featuring a wild myriad of works, this is a stunning showcase for the artistic talent that the gallery currently represents. The world is viewed through the eye of each artist from all sorts of peculiar angles; microscopes and telescopes and horoscopes; satellite pictures and weather maps and cross- sections; futuristic utopian dreams, weird nightmarish creatures and the misty remnants of childhood fables. Hay Hill Gallery’s artists have a reputation for originality and individual style, and those selected are no exception. Like visiting a library, each work can be stopped in front of and ‘read’ by the individual- the differing techniques, colours and authored images invite opinion and discussion simply by their contrast to each other. On every wall are brilliant and more fantastical stories to take in: there are dark creeping forests and sleazy urban landscapes; trippy diamond rainbows and computer generated visions; shining oil puddles that spill across triptychs, diptychs and quadriptychs. |
